International Open Argentine Tango Contest - 2008 Istanbul

Instructions

• Competition has 3 phases
• Qualification tours
• Final tours
• Final and ranking competition

 

 

 

• Qualification tours will be according to the following;
• The groups will be constructed based on the number of competitors. Each group will be subjected to the following elimination process;
• Competitors will dance with the songs that are defined by the Competition Judge Board. The songs will not be announced earlier;
• tango song
• tango-vals song
• tango-milonga song
• The number of total songs that any elimination group should dance with will be decided by the Competition Judge Board. This will be minimum 1 (one) song and maximum 3 (three) songs.
• The first 12 (twelve) couples will be qualified for the final tours.

 

 

 

• Only the competitors selected from Qualification  Tours will be able to compete for Final and Ranking competition. Final and Ranking Competition will be executed as follow;

 

• Every couple will dance for each a tango, a tango-waltz, and a tango-milonga . The songs will be decided by the Competition Judge Board. This song shall be different than the song danced in the Final Tours.
• Competitiors will compete in the order of their registration numbers attached on their backs.
• At the end of the competition the Competition Judge Board will announce the ranking.

 

• Competition is open to all competitors regardless of  their levels are
• The competition songs cannot exceed 3,5 minutes ( 210 seconds ).
• Judges will rate the competitiors in the following criteria and will announce the result as a single rating;
• Musicality
• Aesthetics
• Costume
• In the final and ranking tour there will be no limitations on the dance regarding the hands and feet.
• Competition Judge Board can ask any couple or couples at any tours to dance any number of songs defined by the Competition Judge Board.
